No, just when you are creating the sim you can chose if they are fat or thin.
or else when you are playing, and they are fat, and you want to make them thin make them exercise (swim or work out) and if you want to make them fat, make them eat a lot and dont do exercise...
in sims 3 you might be able to do what you want to do... I dunno...

∙ 14y agoYou can go to a shop that sells clothes by clicking on the phone and selecting 'call a taxi' then when the taxi comes to the sim's house, select the community lot you want to go to.
OR
Hold down CTRL SHIFT C to bring up the cheats box, the type 'boolprop testingcheatsenabled true' (without the inverted commas) then press shift and click on a sim and the select 'plan outfit' and choose the clothes and then dress the sim
OR
If you already own the clothes, buy a wardrobe, click on it and then select 'plan outfit' then 'everyday' or what ever clothes you want to change
