I've been buying and selling them for a while & I don't know where you can look up the serial numbers, if at all. It would be very useful but on the other hand, if it were easily accessible, there's nothing to stop the determined faker from copying e.g. Ligne 2 models & using genuine corresponding serial numbers on them. ST Dupont may have a record of all the lighters they've produced. Ligne 1, 2 and ' D ', Gatsby, Urban, models have hand-stamped serial numbers, not machined. They are irregular and not perfectly aligned.
Check the receiver.
Check the butt or frame.
I advise you to enter the dupont website.
