I've been buying and selling them for a while & I don't know where you can look up the serial numbers, if at all. It would be very useful but on the other hand, if it were easily accessible, there's nothing to stop the determined faker from copying e.g. Ligne 2 models & using genuine corresponding serial numbers on them.
ST Dupont may have a record of all the lighters they've produced. Ligne 1, 2 and ' D ', Gatsby, Urban, models have hand-stamped serial numbers, not machined. They are irregular and not perfectly aligned.
The S.T. DuPont lighter serial number 50 is located on the bottom. Each letter and number is printed separately so that each one differs.

No, you cannot use any flint in your Dupont lighter. Dupont lighters are designed to work with specific flint types that match their mechanism and size. Using the wrong flint can lead to improper functioning or damage to the lighter. Always check the manufacturer's recommendations for the appropriate flint to use.
The average price of a used Dupont lighter very much depends on the model that you want/have. Depending on the model they can sell for anything between $20 and $15,000
According to a specialized dealer only Line 2 and Gatsby Duponts are made to ping.

Yes, some Dupont lighters have serial numbers that are aligned, particularly in specific models or limited editions. This alignment is often a characteristic of the manufacturing process and can indicate authenticity. However, it’s important to note that not all Dupont lighters will have this feature, as variations may exist across different models and production years. Always verify with a reputable source when assessing the authenticity of a lighter.
