Only if all of the rules are met by every one and you qualify to claim them as a qualifying relative dependent on your income tax return.

This is your decision that you will have to make on your own as you have all of the necessary information that is needed to determine if you and they meet all of the rules for YOU to be able to QUALIFY to LIST either one of them as your qualifying relative dependent ON your own income tax return so that you CAN QUALIFY for the Head of Household filing status.

You must be able to claim them as dependents to file using the Head-of-Household filing status.

You can find all of the rules at by going to the IRS gov web site and using the search box for Publication 17 go to Chapter 2 for Filing Status go to Chapter 3 for Personal Exemptions and Dependents

Can 2 people claim head of house one has a child the other does not?

Not in this scenario. One dependent can only qualify one person for the head of household filing status. Even if there were 2 children, each person would have to be maintaining a household for one of the children to qualify. Example 1: Two roommates split the rent and other household expenses. Each has a child and takes care of the expenses for their child. Each can qualify as head of household assuming they meet all other requirements. Example 2: An unmarried couple has two children and live together. They live jointly and use their money jointly. They are not living as roommates. The person making the most money can qualify as head of household, because they would be maintaining more than half the costs of keeping up a home for a qualifying child. The other person qualifies as single. This is true regardless of who claims the children.

Can you file Taxes seperately when you are married?

You can file as married filing separately, but not as single. If you file single but you are separated will you get earned income?

When you are still married you do not qualify for the single filing status unless you have a legally recognized separation by your state.Do you have a qualifying dependent child living with you and sleeping in your home for MORE THAN 51% of the nights in a year and your spouse did not live in your home during the last 6 months of the year you may be able to qualify for the head of household filing status. If you are married, you usually must file a joint return to claim the EIC. Your filing status cannot be "Married filing separately."Spouse did not live with you. If you are married and your spouse did not live in your home at any time during the last 6 months of the year, you may be able to file as head of household, instead of married filing separately. In that case, you may be able to claim the EIC. For detailed information about filing as head of household, see chapter 2 .For more information and rules for your situation go to the IRS gov website and use the search box for Publication 17 go to chapter 36 to start withRule 3

Does a household income include your parents for credit applications?

It depends on a couple of things. If you still live with your parents, if your parents support you, and if you will be paying the credit bills. Usually if it says household income, it is everyone who lives with you (not including children obviously)

Do you have to claim married on your tax return even if you are?

You cannot file as single. You can file as married filing jointly or married filing separately. In very rare circumstances, you can file as head of household if you did not live with your spouse for even one day during the last six months of the year (and this was not a temporary absence with intention to return) and meet the other qualifications to file as head of household.
