You CAN. But it doesn't mean that's the best way. The best way is vinegar and baking soda.
How to clean a cage using vinegar and baking soda:
- Sprinkle a spoonful of baking soda over the base of the cage.
- Pour vinegar over that, only put enough to make the baking soda fizz.
- Swish it around and dump it out.
- Lightly rinse the cage to remove residue
- And dry
When the baking soda fizzes it creates heat witch removes the bacteria, cleaning the cage. This is also the best way to keep smell under control. Its also all natural and edible so if some residue is there, it wont hurt your mouse. The only problem with Clorox is that it could kill your mouse if any residue is left.
