Islam is similar to the Penticostal movement only in that both groups have significant portions of their membership who would be considered "fanatic" and intolerant of other points of view. Of course not all members of each group are fanatic and certainly have no monopoly on fanaticism, but both tend towards "fundamentalism", which is a good springboard into fanaticism for those who are so inclined.
