You don't usually connect one source of voltage to another source of voltage.

If you connect a 600-volt machine to a 300-volt source, the machine will look

up at you and laugh.

If you connect a 300-volt machine to a 600-volt source, the machine will run

very fast, overheat, produce smoke, fail, and possibly explode, all possibly

within a small fraction of a second.
