The best way to connect your laptop to Internet when is already being used by your PC is to add a router. Depending on the router you select, you can then connect your laptop to the router or you can connect wirelessly. This will allow you to have more than one computer on the Internet at the same time.
First of all you will need a wireless router and a modem box but if you have sky you alredy have the router. Then you need to get the router working and then serch for a wirless device then if you see what ever you called your device click on that then open the inter net then it will ask for your passcode then you can use internet on desktop & laptop.
You buy a wireless router, wire the desktop and router to the modem, and use the laptop by getting a wireless card or usb wireless adapter.
There is no difference in functionality of laptop and desktop. you can do same work as you can does with your desktop
There are two ways to connect your laptop to a router, wired and wireless. If your laptop is fairly new, it will likely support both types of connections. The easiest way to connect your laptop is wired. If your router is in the same room as your laptop, or if your router doesn't have wireless functionality, then you should wire it. Just get a standard ethernet cable, with the length depending on how far you have to connect it. However, if you want to be able to walk around your house or even go outside without cables holding you back, set up a wireless connection, if your laptop and router support it. You have to use network connections to connect to an available network, which you will have to set up using software that comes with your router. Once you are connected, you can go anywhere and receive internet as long as you are still in range of your router. Getting a more powerful router will increase your range.
A desktop computer has all the same capabilities as a laptop, aside from being portable. Both can process information, connect you to the internet, print documents and pictures, even play DVD's and CD's.
It's used the same way as a desktop computer. You simply plug the Ethernet cable into the network interface card. You may need to adjust your Laptop's TCP/IP settings to connect to the modem. Wireless Internet is also an option; however, you need a router with wireless capabilities.
If you have a wireless router it's very easy to do. But you will need one lan cable to connect the desktop to the router. Just connect the desktop to the router using the cable. Connect wirelessly both laptops to the router. Make sure that DHCP server is on. If it's not on you will have set up ip addresses manually. If you have a switch you will need three lan cables (one per each computer). And you will have to set up all ip addresses wirelessly. Without a switch or a router you can do it to but you still need a lan cable. You have to set up ip addresses manually and use the cable to connect one of laptops with the desktop. PS: If you set up ip addresses manually all of them should be from the same subnet. For instance, first laptop has the ip address 192.168.1.1, second one 192.168.1.2, the desktop's ip address is 192.168.1.3
I've had the same problem, its because your trying to connect to your router through the same IP address. I dont think there is really a solution to this, I recommend either buying a wireless adaptor (this is what I done and is so much more worth it) or you can ring up microsoft.
The same way you would a desktop. COnnect printer with usb install drivers etc and use normally
Yes
One way you can connect your laptop to your tv,is by using S-Video.Take the S-Video cable and connect it to your laptop, look for a circle with smaller circles in it.Do the same for your tv...then got to your desktop, right click, and go to properties...i dont know what to do after that :) bye
