The Southwestern Advantage sales & leadership program provides college students with the opportunity to build their own businesses marketing and selling high quality educational products directly to consumers. The actual selling and delivery of the products occurs only during the students' summer break. In order to quickly build their business during this relatively short period (an average of 12 weeks), the students go door-to-door to find customers. Once a base of customers is established, referrals to additional customers become another means of finding customers.
