Vanishingly unlikely. S. aureus normally lives on the skin in the nares (nostrils), axilla (armpit) and perineum (right between your legs). Transmission most likely occurs by skin to skin contact via hands which are contaminated after contact with one of those regions (which is why hand hygiene stops it) or possibly through an intermediate surface like a door handle.
In fact, there's a good chance you are colonised right now. S. aureus is one of those bugs which causes disease relatively rarely in comparison to how often it is retrieved from healthy carriers. There are more dangerous strains, but even those do not cause anything untoward most of the time.
They are highly infections, not just to dogs, but to humans as well.
DEPENDS ON IF IT IS A STAPH SKIN INFECTION (WHICH YES YOU COULD POSSIBLY CONTRACT IT THAT WAY) OR IF IT IS A RESPIRATORY STAPH INFECTION (WHICH CAN BE AIRBORNE)
If the infection wound is around the mouth area, you can be infected with staph from giving CPR. Using a breathing barrier (CPR mask) minimizes risks of transfer.
No you don't neccecaryly have to I work at The University of Boxton
Can you get a staph infection by touching a paper that an infected person touched?
Umm..Merca is a staph infection, not a person:)
Staphylococcus (abbrev. "staph") is a bacteria, which is resides predominantly on the skin and mucuous membranes of humans and animals. Most strains are harmless. Pathogenic (i.e. harmful) strains of staph are primarily passed by physical contact. Staph can grow on food and unlike many strains of bacteria, is able to survive in a dry environments or on dry surfaces, which increases its communicability. Staph is responsible for a number of different type of infections such as: open-wound infections, Toxic Shock Syndrome and genitourinary tract infections (primarily in sexually active women).
no it could be a lot of skin diseases it doesnt meen u have staph
A person can go to a local hospital, or even just check the website for WebMD. They have lots of articles and facts on medical treatments for staph infections, with pictures.
The correct spelling is "staph infection." "Staph" is shorthand for staphylococcus, a kind of bacteria.
People can get staph infections from contaminated objects, but staph bacteria often spread through skin-to-skin contact - the bacteria can be spread from one area of the body to another if someone touches the infected area.
Can staph cause , hives .
