Yes if the oven does not have any 3-phase motor, and after conver, the current will be tripple on single phase conductors, so make sure conductor and circuit brakers can handle the current and within limit.

You cannot run a three phase device on single phase power.

<<>>

Check on the nameplate of the device. There are some commercial electrical devices that can be rewired at the device's junction box. It allows you to re-wire the elements to operate on single phase supplies. One example of this is a pottery kiln that I have come across. The current is different when wired in this configuration so the wire sizing has to be recalculated for the higher current draw.

If the load is purley resistive and no motors are involved, yes this can usually be done. The elements can usually be wired in a different configuration to operate on single phase. Commercial Cooking Equipment manufactuers will help you with this on their equipment. A good electrician should be able to accomplish this also.

You don't need to 'convert' three phase to single phase! A single-phase supply is obtained between any line conductor and the neutral conductor, or between any pair of line conductors -the choice depends on the voltage requirements.

yes

just pick any one of the 3

Answer

A three-phase system is either a three-wire system(comprising three line conductors) or a four-wire system(comprising three line conductors and a neutral conductor). To obtain a single-phase supply, the load can either be connected between any pair of line conductors or between any line conductor and a neutral conductor.

Can 3 single phase transformers can replace 1 three phase transformer?

Yes, you can use three single phase transformers on three phase applications and interconnect them to serve as a single transformer or you could use one single phase transformer fed from two of the three lines in a step down application.

What will happen if apply two phase supply to a three phase transformer?

A three phase transformer is simply three transformers so, supplying one phase to a set of three transformers will result in only one phase output. Any loads connected to that transformer that are expecting three phase power will malfunction, and could fail.AnswerA three-phase transformer is NOT 'three separate single-phase transformers', as suggested in the original answer. It is a single transformer with three primary and secondary phase-windings wound around a common three-limb ('core') or five-limb ('shell') core. If a single-phase supply was applied to one of the three primary windings, then single phase voltages would appear across each of the three secondary windings and the remaining two primary windings. These voltages would not be out of phase with each other.

Can you bank three single phase transformers in a delta to grounded wye with one transformer having a different impedance?

yes

Would you install three-phase transformer or bank of three single phase transformer in a large power station and justify by comparing the two schemes?

A three-phase transformer bank is often used in power stations because it is easier to construct and transport very large single-phase transformers, compared with constructing and transforming an equivalent-capacity three-phase transformer.

What is the difference between an open delta and an open wye connection?

An open delta connection is a delta connection with one phase removed, but still supplied with three line conductors. An open wye is a wye connection with one phase removed, supplying a three line conductors and a neutral conductor. An open-delta/open-wye is a method of providing a reduced-load three-phase supply using just two single-phase transformers, rather than the preferred method of using three single-phase transformers.

What is this system called with three single phase transformer?

Your question is rather vague. If you are asking what do you call a group of single-phase transformers, connected to supply three phase, then the answer is a 'three-phase transformer bank'.

Is there a neutral on a three phase transformer?

It depends on whether you are wye or delta connected. A transformer is a transformer, and a three phase transformer is simply three transformers. The key is in how you hook them up.AnswerIt depends on how the transformer is connected. If one set of windings is connected in star (or wye), then the star point is/canbe earthed and becomes the neutral for that particular connection; this is the standard connection for the secondary (low-voltage) of European distribution transformers. In North American three-phase distribution transformers, the secondary windings are connected in delta, and one phase is centre tapped, earthed, and that becomes the neutral point for a 240/120-V split-phase supply to a residence. This answer applies to both three-phase transformers, and to single-phase transformers which have been connected to form a three-phase transformer bank. (It is incorrect to say that a three-phase transformer is simply three single-phase transformers!)

What is the shape of a single phase transformer?

Transformers come in many shapes. Cylindrical, square, and rectangular are three of the main shapes of transformers.

What is the advantage of an open delta transformer?

An open-delta connection is a method of providing a three-phase supply, using two single-phase transformers. It is particularly useful if , say, one single-phase transformer, part of a three single-phase transformers forming a three-phase transformer bank, becomes damaged -allowing the two remaining transformers to provide a temporary three-phase supply to the load. The drawback with this connection is that the capacity of the transformer bank is reduced, and it can only provide a lower load current.

Where does three phase to single phase conversion takes place?

Residential step-down transformers (xxxx to 120volts). Usually a single phase transformer will be used, and connected to one (or possibly two, depending on configuration) of the three phase conductors on the primary side.

Diferant between three phase and single phase power transformers?

Single phase supply alternates like a sign wave, from negative to positive, producing a less reliable source of power, where as three phase is effectively three lots of single phase source, within the time of a standard single phase source. Each of the three phase sources are 120 degrees out of phase, producing a more consistent power source which can carry greater loads.

What is the difference detween single phase and three phase transfomer?

The construction of the core is different. Most 'core-type' three-phase transformers have three limbs. Additionally, there are three sets of primary windings, and three sets of secondary windings.

Is it possible to convert a 2.4 kw single phase appliance to a 9kw 3 phase appliance?

No, it is not possible to convert a 2.4 kw single phase appliance to a 9kw 3 phase appliance. Single phase can not be converted to three phase with out considerable cost involved.
