Some Ford's rear calipers have to be turned in like a screw instead of pushed in like "old fashioned" calipers. I went to Auto ZOne with the same problem and the guy knew exactly what to give me. It's a little adapter that helps you turn the caliper.
the piston on the rear calipers will turn in a clockwise motion and that is how they retract.
The calipers are threaded and screw out.
No need to rotate the front caliper pistons as you compress the front calipers. That process is only for the rear calipers because of the parking brake mechanism.
