If you have 4 wonder cards (i think) you cannot get any more spacial events. so therefore you delete them so you can get more events

One with Mew is coming this year; see Serebii web site), via local wireless (Usually an Event, but could be from a Wii Pokemon game, like Pokemon Battle Revolution or Pokemon Ranch), or from friend.

Deleting a wonder card does not delete the Pokemon. If you've already gotten the event once, you cannot get it again with the same file.
