If someone has real difficulty in swallowing morphine in tablet form, there are other alternatives like Oramorph (A liquid version of Morphine and very popular alternative) or various patches if it's a chronic ailment. Obviously speaking to your GP would be the best advice as they would be able to put any problems right in one quick visit.
