Yes of corse, and the better you move your hands in the correct way the more powerful the spell will be, also most all wizards/witches can do this method but not all and it takes a lot of practice so dont be disapointed if you can not at first. There is also a blocking movement that very powerful wizards and witches can do that can either counter act a spell block a spell or lessen the strength of a spell. You simply cross your arms in front of your chest and concentrate on the enemies face. this method however takes away a LOT of energy and also takes a LOT of practice. Some wizards/ withces will never be able to do it but some can. If you would like a list of spells and how to say/ do the movements to them just send me a message or look under wikianswers question: What are a list of magical spells? Hope that helped

A person who performs clever tricks that appear magical is called a magician. Magicians use a combination of sleight of hand, illusion, and misdirection to create the illusion of magic, often entertaining audiences with their skills. Some magicians specialize in specific types of magic, such as stage magic, close-up magic, or mentalism.
Magic is the noun, magical is the adjective. For example I am magic is very similar to the sentence I have magical powers. magic(k) is the awareness and or actual use of the connection to this artistry, it is more then a simple object but a system to more objective actions magic(k)al is that which contains the awareness, actions, or connection to magic properties...
Fantasy magic involves magical happenings such as spells and curses. It can follow whatever rules there person writing about it wants to. The "magic" performed on stage is not actual magic; it is a set of slight of hand tricks designed to make it look like something impossible is happening when the explanation is perfectly mundane..
Dynamo, whose real name is Steven Frayne, is a magician who performs illusions and tricks for entertainment. While his performances may seem magical, they are based on sleight of hand, misdirection, and other magic techniques rather than real magic.
Magic as it was in those times with a different definition having a mix of superstition and religion in it as well, it was believed real and supernatural vs today's sleight of hand.
The image of a bad witch is someone who does ill to others, and is a common archetype throughout stories. She isn't really real, so much as a cautionary tale, to warn people about the "evils" of magical practitioners, devised by those who did not want the practice of magic to continue. Just to clear things up, magic is the manipulation of naturally occurring powers by the will and hand of a magical practitioner. The magic is neither good nor bad, as it is just power. The magical practitioner is the one who puts the polarity on the magic. For example, if you use a knife to cut vegetable is it a "good" knife? If you use it to kill someone is it a "bad" knife? It isn't the knife that determines these things, it is the person using it. It is the same for magical practitioners.
Magic, from a pagan perspective, is the manipulation of naturally occurring forces, by the hand and will of an ethical practitioner. So in that manner, yes, magic does exist. In this sense, the practitioners are considered magical beings and therefore, they also do exist. The fictional idea of magic, as something that can create instant materialization of things, transform one item into another etc with the wave of a wand or the utterance of a few nonsense words is just that... fiction. The "magical beings" of fiction, such as dragons and unicorns, griffins and fairies are also, just fiction. Stage magic, as seen on television or in live shows is the manipulation of physical things in order to change or confuse the perception of an audience into believing they have seen something done that is supposed to be impossible. Such things as slight of hand, card tricks and making a woman "transform" into a white tiger are things that fall into this category and the illusion (or magic) is quite real, if not exactly what you think it is.
A magician or illusionist performs clever tricks that create the appearance of magic. Using skillful techniques and sleight of hand, they entertain audiences by creating illusions of the impossible.
Through meditation and practice, and by learning from the basics of a magical system you can get Magic powers. But the real magic powers are different from what you see on movies and TV. Magic is simply the manipulation of naturally occurring powers by the hand and will of a practitioner. As stated above, meditation, practice as well as research into the correct manner and ethical use of these powers are essential to learning their control.
Do the david blaine arm twist or vanish a coin. Also you can do the ashes through hand with pencil lead instead of ashes
There is a huge difference between magic and illusion. An illusionist uses mirrors and slight of hand to make things appear to happen 'magically'. But it is not really magical. Real magic takes someone schooled in the occult, usually it involves something dark and evil. An illusionist is entertaining, an occultist is better left alone.
A Pagan PerspectiveMagic is the manipulation of naturally occurring powers by the hand and will of a studied practitioner.Magic is neither good nor bad (white nor black), it simple exists. It is the use it is put to that gives it its perceived polarity.Magic abounds, it is everywhere, in everything and everyone. The first thing you need is to believe.
