The effects of the alcohol are significantly less pronounced and often lead the user to drinking themselves into a dangerous state. If you do, take note of this fact and drink small amounts to determine how the combination effects you.

No, you should not take Adderall while drinking because Adderall is an upper and alcohol is a downer(or a depressant).

Mixing these two can result in you having a heart attack, or cardiac arrest. It mainly depends on the volume of alcohol compared to the milligrams of Adderall though. Smaller doses are your best bet if you are to mix these drugs together.

The Party line: Alcohol should be avoided. The real world answer: Moderate use should not pose a problem in an otherwise healthy adult. However, stimulant medications can mask the degree of a person's intoxication. Also alcohol can produce an acidic environment in the stomach, reducing the effectiveness of stimulants.

As I'm new to this site...I'm not really sure how to put a description of my question...So I'll put it as an answer...

Basically I'm taking Methylphenidate Hydrochloride (Ritalin) for my ADHD. It's prescribed by my GP etc. so no dodgy business.

I was wondering if it were possible to drink alcohol while taking Ritalin. I don't drink a great deal. Only a 275ML bottle of Bacardi every now and then, at most three of these a WEEK, and definitely no more than one in a day. Just in case you're not aware, Bacardi Breezer is only 4% Alcoholic Volume, so it's not a great deal, and I don't drink it to wind down or anything. It's just an occasional treat for me.

Also, just in case it would affect anything...I don't take any other drugs, other than prescription (i.e. the Ritalin, and when needed, Paracetemol) and I don't smoke. Never have, never will.

it is possible to smoke Ritalin if it is concentrated out of its original tablet form.

yea its possible. but it tastes and smells horrible. its a total waste
