No you can't. Mine just went on me and when I turn on my car and put it in gear the whole front drivers' side shakes and rumbles. When you do drive it though, it will sound like the car is dragging the engine on the pavement. It's horrific.

Can bad shocks make a car vibrate at high speeds?

If it is a front wheel drive vehicle, it could be your cv axle or bad struts. yes bad shocks could cause vibration ,but i know my car had a bad cv axle in it a while back. the problem was the cv axle was broke in 2. Take it to an auto shop and ask them to test drive it and see if they can tell you what the problem might be. but if its a front wheel drive car, then i would bet money it is the cv axle but if its a rear wheel drive vehicle then ask them to check your universal joints(U-Joints.)

Do CV joints wear out faster on Cadillacs?

How long a CV joint lasts is directly proportionate with how you drive your car. If you corner hard and accelerate hard, your CV joints won't last as long as the CV joints in a car that has been driven in a more conservative manor.

What causes vibration and a clunking noise under the floorboard of your car?

On a front wheel drive car I would suspect bad CV joints. On a rear wheel drive car I would suspect a bad universal joint. Have a mechanic look at it right away.

What are the signs of bad CV joints in a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer?

Vibrating when accelerating.. clunking when hitting gas. Typical front wheel drive bad CV joint signs.

What causes a thumping noise while accelerating and the faster you go the louder it gets but when not moving there is no noise?

It could be loose lug nuts, CV joints, U-joints, wheel bearing, bad tire or any number of problems not mentioned. But start with the above, in the order mentioned. If your car isn't front wheel drive, it doesn't have CV joints. If it IS front wheel drive it doesn't have U joints.

What function does the boot on the cv joints of a front wheel drive car do?

Keeps grease in, dirt and water out.

Why does car hum on right side of car while accelerating?

It's possible you have a bad wheel bearing, or, if it's a front wheel drive car, bad CV joints are also a possibility.

Are there 4 cv joints on a Camry?

Yes you have two drive axles that use 2 CV joints, both have an inner CV joint and an Outer CV joint

When do you knowyou need to replace the CV joint?

When you drive the car around a sharp turn, the CV joints will make a bad clicking sound if they need repair. Look at them and see if the protective boot is missing or torn. If they make a bad noise on a turn to right or left, at least one of them are bad, and will probably require replacement.

What would cause a knockingrattling sound from right front tire on a 2001 Mitsubishi eclipse?

bad cv joints check under the car and see if there is a rubber boot on the drive shaft connection to the wheel
