I know that you are supposed to avoid eating starches on HCG. Apparently HCG doesn't cut out all the starches, because you still have to consume some in the diet, such as the melba toasts and grassini bread sticks (and remember vegetables are have starches in them too but to a small amount. Greens are mainly made of carbohydrates as well (that is the basic building block of plant structure). The amount of starches are kept to a minimal. I love popcorn and I have done HCG 4 times now with a good amount of success each time, and I have lost well over 35 to 40 pounds each time ... losing weight anywhere from a 230lb to 170lb ( I am a guy, by the way).
To answer your question ... apparently not, BUT ... I cheated every time I went to the movies. I bought myself a medium or large popcorn (no butter) and ate the whole darn thing! It felt good :) .. On several occasions my weight stayed the same. I have gained a pound back on two occasions, and went right into an apple day the next day. That is not a big deal for me. If it bothers you, do an apple day and get back on track. On several occasions, I didn't gain any weight back at all. In fact I actually had lost my normal 2 lbs yesterday and had a medium size (no butter) at the movies.
Regardless of what happens in the diet, be comfortable with the routine and use the apple day to get back on track. I actually enjoy the apple days, because they give me a break from the eating mundane salads and the 4 ounces of meats. The advice is to avoid the starchy food. My advice, enjoy the routine and live the HCG one day at a time. If you can avoid the popcorn, by all means do it. But if you can't, get a small one without the butter and if you gain the weight, to an apple day, to normalize your weight. Don't go crazy and think the world will end because you've gained a pound back. trust me, but the end of the deal, if stick with the diet, the amount of weight loss will be amazing.
