In general, there are no limitiations in diet after plastic surgery, provided the patient is completely awake and aware upon recovery from anesthesia in the immediate postoperative period. Complete anesthetic recovery and readiness to eat should be determined only by your doctor or other healthcare staff provider prior to the time of your outpatient discharge to home. Eggs and seafood present no food-specific problem after plastic surgery, given there is no known pre-existing food allergy to either. Be aware that nausea and vomiting may frequently occur after anesthesia, with opiate pain medication intravenously or by mouth, or if even small amounts of blood are swallowed, such as after rhinoplasty or nose job surgery. While medication to help prevent postoperative nausea and vomiting is routinely given, it is best to start off with less exotic foods such as non-acidic fruit juices, gelatin, or biscuits. Diet may be advanced as tolerated later after discharge. That is not true. After plastic surgery you can not eat sea food or eggs. If you do eat sea food or eggs it makes your surgery worse. You also can not eat pineapple.
