No, because cozaar is an angiotensin receptor blocker which lowers the blood pressure & grape fruit will block some enzymes in the interstine so that the medication directly can enter in to the body very fast &in the kidneys there will be loss of water &salts . it causes so many side effects .

Well, in a study made where people who had a history of high cholesterol, those that ate the red grapefruit had the most effect in lower their blood pressure. The yellow also lowered blood pressure but not as much as the red grapefruit.
However, grapefruit can have serious reactions with certain blood pressure and high blood pressure meds. Always ask your pharmacist before combining the two.

∙ 12y agoIt is better to stay away from grapefruit while on blood pressure medication. if you really want to eat grapefruit give it full 24 hours without taking the medication, then you can eat grapefruit. When ready to get back on medication give it full 24 hours also.
