On erowid.com it says Lexapro can cause a false/positive for PCP in women but its doubtful

I am on lex, and just passed a preemployment drug test which covered the usual

street drugs as well as barbiturates and benzodiazepines. i can only assume that if they have a test for ssri meds you could get caught. I dont know if ssri meds are actually tested for .

Technically yes it could show up if they were searching for it. Lexapro is a antidepressant drug and not typically thought of as a drug of abuse. So while they might find it and probably isn't going to negatively impact your drug test results.

Especially if this drug is prescribed for you and you can prove it. Drug test are looking for illegal drugs (marijuana, cocaine etc) and drugs of abuse (Oxycontin, Percocet, Vicodin, Xanax and the like) but even those drugs are okay if you legally prescribed them.

If I were an employer I probably wouldn't hire a employee who was on say Oxycontin (whether it was legally prescribed or not) for certain jobs like say a school bus driver. They would present too big of a risk (they are buzzed up and not able to drive or think clearly). But lets say I am hiring a stock-person and I see they are on Xanax I might take a chance and hire them provide this drug was prescribed and they seemed capable of doing the job.

If you are referring to a typical job-related drug screen, probably not. Most employers only test for certain drugs, such as opiates, heroin, cocaine, and marijuana. Lexapro is an antidepressant and would not be routinely included. However, if a patient were admitted to a hospital with unknown history, the hospital may test the patient's blood for Lexapro or other medications like it.

No, I have had many drug tests for employment and it doesn't cause a positive reaction.

No. Lexapro is not an addictive drug. It is an antidepressant in the SSRI (specific serotonin reuptake inhibitor) class.
