Hi there. I am from Alabama, USA. I have been buying broiler meat from a farmer not too far from where I live for almost 20 years. Recently I have learnt that this farmer feeds his broilers with broiler meat. Is this possible. Now that I have learnt that his chickens are actually cannabals I have decided to stay away from them. Is this allowed. Can you actually feed broilers with broiler meat. Also that probably means that he is feeding his broiler with dead broilers on his farm. I have been told that he actually grinds up the dead broiler meat and feeds this to his broilers. He must be making a good living because he has been driving 4x4's since I have known him and the current one he is driving is almost $120,000.
To raise broilers to their best you will need: A chick starter A Broiler Grower A Broiler Finisher
feed conversion ratio: for every one broiler,a certain amount of feed is consumed. eg: 100 broilers is feed 800kg of feed 100 : 800 100 : 800 1 : 8 so for every one(1) broiler,eight(8)kg of feed is consumed.
No. Layers are layers and broilers are meat birds
Broilers are chickens both male and female that will be slaughtered for meat at about 5 to 8 months old depending on weight. Broilers are raised to produce meat. Typically a broiler is fed a diet high in calories, often corn, to quickly bring it to market weight. The younger the bird at optimum weight the more tender the meat.
Broiler chickens are raised primarily for their meat. The goal of the backyard grower is the same as those that raise broiler chickens commercially; putting weight on the bird as quickly as possible. Broilers are also known as frying or fryer chickens. Broilers are harvested at various ages for Cornish hens, nuggets and chicken parts. Broilers raised at home are generally purchased as chicks.
Compound feed is food for domestic animals that is made from a variety of sources and contains other additives. It can be fed to animals using either a broiler or a layer feeder, by filling the feeder up with the compound feed.
Broiler is a type of chicken raised specifically for meat productions. They are fed a special diet of high protein feed.
The best broiler comes from infrared broilers which can be found on the General Electric JRS06SKSS Stainless Steel Single Oven
A broiler is a special breed of chickne bred specifically for meat. Some breeeds of broilers can be harvested at ages 6-8 weeks, depending on the gender.Broiler chickens are chickens that are bred just for meat. They are bred to grow really fast. Alot of times these chicks will die from heart attacks. This is because they grow too fast for their heart. Broiler chickens dont have a long lifespan. They only live for a few weeks (if they are not slaughtered they are lucky to live past a year.) Eventually their legs give out because they can no longer support all of the weight.
Your question is very vague. Broiler chickens are meat chickens or birds that are raised for slaughter around 10 weeks of age. There are many, MANY breeds of broilers from commercial hybrids that personally I find anyone who condones raising cruel and inhumane and then there are TRUE meat birds who produce the finest quality of meat and can be heritage or mixed breeds. The most common is the Cornish crosses or Cornish Rock.
Yes, if given the chance broiler hens will sit on their eggs and incubate them - this is instinctive behavior.
Usually broilers are any left over roosters that you don't want to keep and maybe a few hens that you don't want to keep these would go in the broiler.Your hens you want to keep and get eggs from would be your layers.
