1. Hit the "CHAT" button. I think both messengers must do this so they are both in chat mode.
2. Type in a message. In case you don't know, the number buttons have letters under them and hitting the button more than once cycles through your letter choices.
3. Hit the SEND button. It will say P/I?
4. This is asking if you want to send PRIVATE or ICQ. The lower left corner of the keypad has these two buttons (the buttons themselves say "CALL" but look underneath). ICQ is the easiest...just hit it once. I think ICQ sends the message to all text messengers within range. Private will send it to only one. To use this you need to set an ID on each messenger. To set an ID, hit the ID button and give a 4-digit code. When sending private it will ask you for the ID of the receiving text messenger so you just enter the 4-digit number you used.
It looks like the one receiving cannot be in the middle of creating a message but I'm not sure. We got this to work fine as long as both kids were in chat mode and only one sent a message at a time. I'm sure there is a way to do it but I don't know how yet. If you want, I can let you know when I figure more of it out.
The directions to use the text messenger toy with the ID are quite simple to follow. A person must connect to the I/R chat mode and type using the QWERTY keyboard. Other users must be in the area to receive the message.
just go to chat what do you do after you press send?
Why don't you go and ask limited too manager? If that's where you got it.
