I believe it is possible because if you lets take the plesiosaur for example it lived in frigid cold waters and had it's nursery in the Australian water i believe because once upon a time Australia was all water... so it could be possible if you get the right materials.

This depends on a lot of things. Corrosion might have worn the fossils down and eroded them. Some may have been recycled when the top crust layer descends back into the Earth. Most fossils were found on land since that is where most of the dinosaurs died.
