because of the veins. there are fliuds and minerals that were nnot incorporated in the common minerals, these are usually metallics such as gold silver lead and copper. these are dissolved and then released at the end of the magma crystallization. it the solidifies to form the metal rich veins, such as gold.

You can only find gold in quartz if there is a gold vein( or water vein) leading into the area. It is possible and has been found before.
