You can wait to see if they keep your tax refund and send you a notice stating that you owe back taxes.
You can also take your tax documents to a CPA or a tax attorney to have them review your returns and verify taxes are or are not owed. It may be less expensive in the long run to do this because the longer you wait to pay the owed taxes, the more fees and interest accrue, therefore increasing the amount you owe. There are several companies out there that offer help with back taxes. If you owe more than $10K in taxes, then contact a tax attorney to help with possibly reducing fees and interest.
