You cannot select the gender once pregnancy has begun. However you cannot select gender before pregnancy without medical help. There are plenty of old wives tales about sexual positions, timing, and douching with various solutions before having sex, but there is no proof that any of this works. One theory is that male sperm weighs less and thus travels faster because of the Y chromosome, so you would have sex right before ovulation if you want a girl (to give the male sperm a chance to die) and a couple days after ovulation if you want a boy. Again, there is little or no scientific evidence that this helps.
Most women find out their baby's sex during their mid-pregnancy ultrasound. This usually occurs around 16-20 weeks into the pregnancy. Genetic tests may also be used as a technique to find out the gender of the baby.
Either by having an ultrasound scan, or by having the amniotic fluid tested.
It has been scientifically shown that the gender of the baby mostly depends on the father's gene's. There is no specific way to positively make a certain gender during conception, or during the pregnancy.
2nd trimester
The baby's gender can usually be determined by ultrasound in the mid to late second trimester of the pregnancy. The baby's gender usually begins to develop during the latter half of the first trimester (about 8 weeks).
Nope! The only thing that influences the gender of your baby is the sperm from your partner. The sex of the baby cannot be influenced in any way!
They will usually find out during your first ultrasound.
The only thing that can affect the outcome of your gender of your pregnancy is the males sperm. Your baby's gender is predetermined by the genetics in your partners sperm. There is nothing you can do to to alter your baby's gender.
