It depends on the pet. They don't allow fish, but they allow dogs and cats. If the animal is allowed on the airline but dosn't behave or bothers a passenger you may have to take the pet home or make arrangements to ensure each passenger feel safe and well cared for.

Most airlines require pets to fly in checked baggage, so you will need to have your pet crated. They also charge a pet fee small pets like toy dogs or cats can be carried on board if their carrying case can fit under the seat. pets can't go in the overhead compartments as the contents shift in flight and they may be injured. You sill have to pay a pet fee and your animal has to go through security screening. you will be required to remove them from their cases as animals/living creatures cannot go through the x-ray machines. make sure to remove metal tags or leashes as they will set off the metal detectors and both you and your pet will be screened(invasive pat down). remember you can't bring water through security, so you need to have a bowl you can fill with water to hydrate your pet. pack all food and water in your pets crate for animals you have checked. once your pet is checked in you will not be allowed to see it until you reach you final destination. this may vary if you have a layover where you have to change planes or transfer to another airline. Some exotic pets such as constrictor snakes or lizards are not allowed on planes. because of the liquid ban i don't know if you can transport fish anymore. check the tsa website and your airline's pet policy. service animals are exempt from pet fees. they still have to go through screening so unless you can remove their service harness prior to going through the walk through metal detectors, you will alarm and both animal and you will be sent for additional screening.if you have a big dog like a German Shepard you might want to purchase a seat for it. the service animal has to fit in the area where your feet go. but it's not a rule, just makes it more comfortable for the animal ,owner and people sitting next to you. be aware that the luggage holds are not always heated, or fully pressurized and your pet could be injured or die as a result. check with your vet to make sure your pet is healthy enough to fly in extreme conditions.in winter it will be freezing, and summer it will be sweltering hot. and if the plane loses altitude due to turbulance the cargo hold pressure can fluctuate killing your animal or injuring it. i worked for delta airlines and TSA and have seen cases where this has happened. If your not moving or going overseas I recommend getting a pet sitter or boarding your pet while you are on vacation.
