Plastic soft drink containers can be used to freeze water, but you might not want to. Because reused soft drink containers can lead to germs.

But if you want to just follow these steps. Fill them with drink & use them as freezer packs in chilly bins

Since water expands when frozen, be sure not to fill your container all the way to the top or you risk cracking your container.

Some people are concerned that plasticisers (like bisphenol A, or BPA used to make the plastic supple and not brittle could leach into the contents of a reused container. Physically this is a possibility but the amounts involved are extremely small, and even smaller when dealing with cold, rather than hot, contents. The scientific community has not agreed on this question.

To reduce their potential for exposure, consumers who are concerned can rinse empty bottles with hot water before adding cold contents for storage, and reuse bottles only a few times.

Answer 2: Our warm mouths are a haven for bacteria and has been called an oral ecosystem. It is a haven for bacteria, some good, some bad. Its best to toss used water bottles. Invest in some other container if you want frozen water. There are numerous containers for just that purpose.

nothing the water will freeze and the bottle is going to expand

If the bottle is completely filled with water and then frozen, the bottle will most likely break because there is no airspace to 'absorb' the expansion of the water/ice. The bottle will not explode, but will in all likely hood crack and may break

the water turns into ice, just like it would have if it froze in a glass bottle or an aluminum can. While the water is turning to ice it is turning to ice the bottle will expand because a solid takes up more room than a liquid.

The short answer is; yes. Typical concerns about freezing plastic water bottles in the freezer come a myths that chemicals will 'leak' or somehow get into the water inside the bottle. There is no evidence to support that there is anything transferred from the bottle to the water. There are some practical tips you'll want to follow i.e. not filling the bottle completely, or leaving caps screwed on too tightly. This may cause problems with he expansion of he liquid as it cools.

Yes it is very safe. If you freeze water in a plastic bottle, the only thing that will happen is the water might be half freezes and half water. But most of it will be frozen I guarantee

If you put too much water in the bottle it with over flow when it freezes, as water expands when it freezes. Also, as the bottle is plastic it could easily crack
