It can be done, but not at home. It takes a specialized technique for the collection and freezing of the sperm in order to have viable sperm.

The process requires liquid nitrogen and extremely cold temperatures to insure that the sperm is not damaged by the freezing process.

The temperature in a home freezer is not cold enough to keep sperm viable for very long. Proper storage of sperm requires temperatures of several hundred degrees below zero.
