No. The Nintendo Wii U is a brand new eighth-generation console. The GamePad tablet that comes with it is the actual controller for it, not the system or a peripheral. It cannot be used on a Wii as it is a different console-it's like trying to use a Wiimote on the GameCube. The Wii U Pro is a controller without the screen.

∙ 11y agoYes you can. The Wii needs a composite video input so you will need to connect to the three RCA sockets on the television.
Beware: Plasma televisions can suffer from image burn. If a static image is left on the screen for many hours, the image can become imprinted on the display permanently. Make sure that the Wii is not being displayed as soon as you've finished using it.
