You can get a CDL. That part isn't the problem. It's finding employment which is the difficult part. Ideally, you should have at least seven years between your DUI convicted and seeking employment as a CDL driver. If you have five or six years between conviction and seeking employment, you can cope, but it will present obstacles. Less than five years between a DUI conviction and seeking employment, your odds are extremely slim. Less than three years between a DUI and seeking employment, you might as well forget about it and find greener pastures for yourself.
Not as long as the resulting suspension period from your DUI conviction is in effect. If it has passed, and you've reinstated your licence, you can upgrade it to a CDL. If your DUI occurred within the past 10 years, your prospects of finding employment as a CDL driver are slim. If it's been within the past five years, you'd be best advised to pursue another career path, and not waste your money getting a CDL.
True
One DUI seven years ago... you're not so bad off. If you had multiple DUIs, that might be a different story, but you can get a CDL, and you should be able to find someone who'll hire you, so long as you've kept your driving record clean since then.
As long as you've met the conditions for reinstatement of your licence and driving privilege, you can upgrade to a CDL. However, before you go and do this, you may want to give some thought to it - if that DUI occurred within the last three years, your chances of finding employment as a CDL driver are practically nil. If it happened in the past four to seven years, it will still make things difficult for you. If it happened more than seven years ago, you should be alright.
No more then 1 year.
Not if the DUI was within past 5 yrs, or 2 DUIs in past 10 years. See link below.
How long does a DUI stay on your record- In California, a DUI remains on your driving record for 10 years. Before January 1, 2007, it only remained on your record for 7 years. Now, even if you were convicted of a DUI before the 2007 legislative change, it will still be reported for 10 years.More info below-
You should try smaller truck companies, be honest for your best chances, but most companies wont hire you until your dui is at least 3 years old and the larger companies generally wont hire you until the dui is 5 years old.

Penalties for DUI (Driving Under the Influence) vary depending on the jurisdiction, but commonly include fines, license suspension or revocation, mandatory alcohol education programs, community service, and possible jail time. Repeat offenses and aggravating factors such as high blood alcohol concentration or causing injury while driving under the influence can result in harsher penalties.
In Arizona, the statute of limitations for a DUI offense is typically one year for a misdemeanor DUI charge and seven years for a felony DUI charge. This means that the state must file charges within these time frames from the date of the offense.
depends on the judge, the state, and your prior record. Here in Virginia it is usually 1 year for a first offense.
