No. It is sealed only to the view of the general public. The courts, law enforcement and government agencies will ALWAYS have access to the complete criminal record.
Yes, they can. The courts, law enforcement, and government agencies are exceptions and are legally capable of viewing sealed or expuinged records.
Forever, if you don't get "charged" again :-)
(in the US) your juvenile record becomes sealed after you turn adult. However, your adult criminal record is a permanent history and can only be changed by expungement
You would have to check with the licensing authority in your state, but I do not believe you can. Even though your record is sealed, it is sealed ONLY to the public. Government agencies still have access to it.
when your criminal record is sealed.
Check with a local lawyer to be sure.In general terms, a sealed record still is a record, just not accessible to the public. Usually, a restoration of gun rights requires that a record be expunged rather than sealed.Another View: In terms of being sealed or expunged it makes little difference. Such records, when sealed or expunged only render them unavailable to members of the general public. The courts, law enforcement, and government agencies always have access rights to these records. You would have to obtain a pardon from the governor of the state in order to qualify.
No, not unless you work for an agency of government, or in a position which requires a security clearance.
Your juvenile is sealed to the public, but it never"goes away" and is available to law enforcement, the courts and government agencies.
From: katanatac- All record checks show everything from infractions to felonies. The only things it wont show are charges sealed as in the case of a juvenile or record expungement. But remember, just because the state seals or destroys a record does not mean the the feds dont have a copy of it(and i am speaking from experiance) so if you apply for a job such as a police officer or any other government job do not leave it out! The FBI does have a copy and the agency doing the record check will ask them,so if you leave it out they will know and you will not be hired because you will be seen as being dishonest. Remember,we are all human and make mistakes, learn from them!!
