Lots of things can look like herpes, but herpes usually comes with some distinct symptoms like itching, burning and or tingling around the site of infection, swelling can happen and with an initial break out it can feel like you're getting the flu.
I thought I contracted herpes on my hands, went to a dermatologis and turns out it's ezcema. It's always best to get things like that checked out by a doctor or dermatologist cause you just can't be sure on your own.
