No, but there are free weekends every so often. Kinda like a demo, you download it then play it for the weekend before they re-"lock" the game.
No. the stock weapon for the scout is the scattergun. In the demo video for TF2 the scout is armed with a nailgun, which is a legacy weapon from the original Team Fortress. There might be a air powered scattergun in the steam workshop, which are Community made weapons. NB: also in the TF2 demo, the demo man is armed with dynamite. :)
Yes, first download steam, make a account, then find tf2 in steam and download it. Its free now. (TF2 takes about 3-10 gb of space.)
No, TF2 does not have any single-player. You can play on servers with random people or your steam friends
No you cannot trade weapons for beta tf2 to normal tf2. Beta Tf2 is considered to be a completely different game by steam. Therefore the two game's inventories are not compatible.
The only way to get TF2 is to first install steam and create a steam account. Then search in the steam store for Team Fortress. You will find it there and will be able to download and install it. but if you have just joined Steam then you cant get TF2 because they wont allow you to get any free product until you have paid over £10 I think it is on anything in there store.
The company Valve made TF2. They also made steam, css and a lot more.
Download it from one the many places on the internet; Place the map inside: C:\Programfiles\Steam\Steamapps\YourName\TF2\TF2\Maps
