I believe that this was actually used by the Egyptians, once an important Pharaoh was about to be mummified, they would stick a tool up his nose to get his brain and keep it in a jar. This was done to every organ in the body except for the heart because it was believed that it was needed for the afterlife.
(But not his brain, because no one needs a brain right?)
But some scientists are going on about that there is no pathway to the brain from the nose. They are saying that there may be a pathway but it is not strait enough to stick something up it and also the pathway is not the same in every human. Also, there is your skull to think about.
As greusome as it may sound, they actually would shove rods up the nose and into the head of the person being mummified, and scramble the brains to liquify them so they could be poured out of the nostrils.

∙ 14y agoThis really borders on the edge of impossibility. Given the that nose is made of cartilage and there is bone between the nose and the brain, it is not likely that anything could possibly make it through bone into the brain. The link below will explain it.
