For constipation? Try a diet rich in fiber-rich fruits and vegetables first with plenty of water first. If they're constipated and in a lot of distress, a glycerin suppository might be a better way to go. Children may not necessarily go to the bathroom daily and that doesn't mean they're constipated. If they're distressed and not feeling well, that's when it's time to intervene and help them go, but some children just go every few days and aren't in any pain and that can be normal.
