Can you give me the characteristics of Dicotyledon seed?
A dicotyledon has leaves with a network of veins, and also, the seed contains an embryo that contains two seed leaves
A cotyledon is a seed leaf. A dicotyledon is a plant that has two leaves directly after it germinates. If you peel/open a dicotyledon seed, it will naturally fall into two halves which would become the cotyledons after germination. Good eaxmple that this is easy to see this in - peas and beans. A monoctyledon has a single leaf directly after germination - examples - grasses and palms.
Monocotyledons are one of two categories of angiosperms (flower-producing plants). It has veins branching up and down the leaf, 1 cotyledon in the seed, and petals in multiples of 3. A dicot or dicotyledon has veins branching from a thick, center midrib, has 2 cotyledons in the seed, and petals in multiples 4 or 5.
With a monocotyledon, the seed sprouts to produce one seed leaf. Typically they also have leaves with parallel veins, a lack of secondary growth, and flower parts in multiples of three. With a dicotyledon, the seed sprouts to produce a pair of leaves. Typically they also have leaves with reticulate venation, flower parts in multiples of four or five, pollen with three pores, and the capacity for secondary growth.
it's dicotyledon. --> No! Pine is a gymnosperm ("naked seed"; no ovary), and thus the terms dicotyledon (dicot or eudicot) and monocotyledon (monocot) do not apply to conifers like Pine. The terms "monocotyledon" and "dicotyledon" (or more accurately "eudicot") only apply to the angiosperms (flowering plants containing ovaries/"vessels"). Pine is NOT an angiosperm, thus this these terms DO NOT apply to Pine (or any other conifers).
Monocotyledon- 1 cotyledon, plant has straight veined leaves Dicotyledon- 2 cotyledon, plant has net-veined leaves. Cotyledon- the first leaf, or one of the first pair of leaves, produced by the seed of a flowering plant. They may serve as food stores, remaining in the seed at germination, or produce food by photosynthesis.
A cotyledon is a part of embryo within the seed of a plant. The baby is present between cotyledon. in a baby plant'a new root system and a shoot system are present that grows in to a new plant. Seed with one cotyledon are called monocotyledon or monocots . Seed with two cotyledon are called dicotyledon or dicots
