Read the labels to make sure you are not doubling up on acetominophen [Tylenol ]. Too much is hard on a child's liver. Call any Pharmacisist [NOT the clerk] , they will be happy to advise you further.
yes you can give it....
delcium cough syrup or daytime and nightime cold medicine
please give me an answer
Most packets say "consult a doctor for peoples under 6yrs old"
Yes, there are no ingredients that will interfere with each other if you give your child Penicillin and Tixylix cough syrup at the same time. These 2 medications are known to work well together when a child has a cold with a fever and cough.
You CAN'T!!!!Tylenol & Codeine are not meant for children!!!!
If you are concerned about your cough, call your doctor's office or insurance advice nurse to discuss your symptoms and see if they want you to set up an appointment. If it is a minor, but bothersome, cough associated with a cold or flu, go to your pharmacy. There is a wide variety of cough syrups sold over-the-counter that are formulated to treat different types of coughs and other symptoms. Your pharmacist can help you find the right one for you. There are certain people who seek a prescription for cough syrup because if they take more than a prescription dose the ingredients give them a "high." This can cause headaches, nausea, and if overdone, serious complications. Please do not use cough syrup for entertainment, or as a way to escape from the stresses of life. If you are tempted to give in to peer pressure please talk to your school counselor or nurse; or even better, your parents. If you are using cough syrup as an escape, please talk to a friend, family member, therapist, or spiritual adviser. [Note: I am not a medical doctor or pharmacist.]
Both products contain the active ingredient dextromethorphan therefore it should NOT be recommended for a 10 year old to take both at the same time. Even though the Pediacare dosage for dextromethorphan does not seem as high as the dosage for Delsym the Pediacare is given more frequently and both are at the max dose already. Since Delsym lasts longer my recommendation would be to give a dose of Delsym before the child goes to sleep at night instead of a dose of Pediacare to prevent them from waking up in the middle of the night with a cough. In addition giving them some acetaminophen (Tylenol) in addition to the Delsym at bedtime should help with the fever since it is an ingredient in Pediacare that is not in Delsym. You can always stop and ask the Pharmacist for advice as well.
No. it will show up as dihydrocodeine. dihydrocodeine breaks down into dihydromorphone which is usually not tested for, but i took a 12 panel test from the local drug store and it tested positive for opiates. ;(
COUGHFree Cough Syrup by Heel, Inc. can be purchased through 1-800-Petmeds for about $15. However, most cases of kennel cough are mild and will resolve in about 10 days. Older dogs, pups or those recovering from an illness or surgery should be taken to a vet if kennel cough develops as it can progress to a more serious condition.
