Yes, but you must be at least 18 to be served alcohol. Children can go into pubs in Ireland if they are accompanied by adults. Many pubs will stop allowing children in after 6pm and certainly by 9pm.

What is the legal age of drinking in England?

To buy alcohol in a public house or shop in the UK, you need to be 18. To drink in a pub or club, you need to be 18. However, if you are over 16, you may drink beer, cider or wine (or all 3) with a meal in a licensed restaurant. There are no legal restrictions on drinking at home (although if you are under 18, someone else would have to buy it for you). A court, or social services, might decide that giving a young person excessive booze for their age constitutes child neglect.
