Most of the time you can but it matters by if they like another person and want you out of there life. I had a boyfriend who liked other girls and I liked other guys but we never told each other that so when I broke up with him I ended up wit another guy and he was mad so he asked out another girl. So after that one day the guy that I just started to date let me off easy and said he thinks he needs some time. So then about ten minutes later my ex calls and asked me to call his girlfriend and see if she called him. So I did just to be nice and all then she said, "I really only like him as a friend so can u let him down easy for me?" and I said sure so I told him she just wanted to be friends and then he said well I still love you do you want to go out and I said yes and after all of that to this day we are Married! so sometimes breakingup and going out wit someone else can get you guys closer than you were b4
