* They can be surgically removed if the doctor believes they need to be. * The treatment of hemorrhoids varies depending on where they are (inside or outside of the rectum), the problems they are causing, and how serious they are. For many people, hemorrhoids are temporary conditions that are healed either by medication or by the same measures recommended for prevention. In such cases, warm sitz bath, cold compress, or topical analgesic is sufficient to provide temporary relief to the patient. Some also find relief from a warm bath with epsom salts added in the water. When painful hemorrhoids do not respond to home-based remedies, professional medical treatment is necessary. The choice of treatment depends on the type of hemorrhoid, what medical equipment is available, and some other factors that need to be considered. Bleeding hemorrhoids can be treated with an injection of a substance that causes the hemorrhoids to become obliterated with scar tissue. This procedure is called injection sclerotherapy. * Large internal hemorrhoids and those that do not respond to injection sclerotherapy can be tied off with rubber bands. The band when tied causes the hemorrhoid to dry up and drop off painlessly. The treatment is usually applied to one hemorrhoid at a time and at intervals of two weeks or more. Internal hemorrhoids may also be destroyed with a laser rays, an infrared light or an electrical current. Rubber band ligation is probably the most widely used of the many treatments for internal hemorrhoids. It is also the least costly and painful method for the patient. This procedure is performed in the office of a family doctor or specialist, or in a hospital at an outpatient department. There are operations that remove/improve hemorrhoids: * Ferguson = closed method * Milligan-Morgan = open method * PPH = stapling method For surgery and other related things, see a surgeon or a proctologist.

What ever you do don't pop it!

The swollen hemorrhoid comes from irritation and pressure, to help soothe and repair as well as clean, you need to wipe with soft toilet paper and use aloe and witch hazel. Also, a shower afterward doesn't hurt. Use a non-soap non-irritation cleaner. To get the swelling down, wrap and ice block once in thin underwear and place on the hemorrhoid.

A book ref is, Don't Panic They're Just Hemorrhoids. You also need to eat more veggies and fruit. Drink more water and exercise - Standard healthy stuff.

No, not really. A hemorrhoid is a blood vessel, if you lance it, you will bleed until it decides to clot, and you won't get any relief. A doctor can cauterize it or freeze it away, or cut it off from blood flow until it dies off.

Don't try surgery on yourself. It's a bad idea.

Absolutely not. Don't even try it.

Hemorrhoids are over engorged veins (much like varicose veins in the legs). If they are causing you a lot of concern you should contact your doctor.

What is the treatment for a fisher hemroid?

Treatment for all hemorrhoids depends on the severity of the hemorrhoid. For a less severe hemorrhoid, the doctor may just prescribe a cream to soothe and help shrink the affected area. For a more severe hemorrhoid, the doctor may do a surgery to remove the hemorrhoid and cauterize the area.
