Do NOT have the lapband surgery if you have A-fib issues. The band will put pressure on the Vegus nerve which in turns CAUSES a-fib. I was perfectly healthy until I started having a-fib and hyperthyroid issues. I've had my band for 11 years and never correlated the a-fib and thryoid problems to the surgery but if you do some research and talk to doctors you will find the connection to the Vegus nerve. I wish there had been more long-term research on the effects of the lapband before I made my decision to go ahead with it.
You have information that I hope convinces you to NOT have the surgery. The quality of my life has been greatly affected by these health issues.
