If you want to get experimental, yes. Someone hacked into it and designed software that mada a puppet show with it.
no you can hook it to a pc
Well, yes. There are two kinect systems, one is a Kinect PC and the other is a Kinect 360. If you want to use your kinect with your xbox get the 360 one. If you have games and mods on your pc you can get the kinect pc but it is considerably more than the kinect 360.
No. Just hook the old X-box with the new Kinect.
no
You can hook up any cassette player to your PC by connecting the 2.5 mm audio out to your PC.
No.
Any version of the Xbox 360 will work with the Kinect, the only requirement is 175 mb of memory. If you are using an older Xbox 360 then you will also have to plug the Kinect into an outlet.
If you bought just the Kinect alone w/out the Xbox, then just plug it in using the usb cable that came with it. If you bought a Kinect and Xbox bundle, you cant connect it to your PC because it doesnt come with the extra usb cable(you can get one at the Microsoft store website).
In the Kinect box, you will see another cable. This cable is useless if you have the Xbox 360 s. However, you need this other cable to connect the Kinect to an older Xbox 360 model. This cable is an power supply, also the USB for the Kinect. If any problems, you can get a guide on the Xbox website about this. Or just look in your manual.
Kinect was "Distributed" by Microsoft. Technically the kinect was not invented by microsoft. A company called PrimeSense created the camera technology and was originally going to sell it to MAC. However MAC did not want the technology so they sold the technology to Microsoft. Now PrimeSense is teaming up with ASUS making another kinect for the PC but it is called Wavi Xtion.

Hook up a USB cable from the system to your hard drive or laptop.
