Microsoft ceased providing Windows Media Player for Macs in 2003. There is a free WMV Player produced and maintained by Flip4Mac which allows Windows media to be played within the QuickTime player. (See links below)
Windows Media Player for Mac was last updated in 2010, and is no longer available for download and installation. Instead, one can use Windows Media Components for QuickTime by Flip4Mac which is available for download through the Microsoft website in place of Windows Media Player for Mac.

You cannot just download and install Windows on your Mac. To install Windows on your mac you will have to partition your hard drive and then install Windows on that new partition. This will have no effect on your existing OSx. To do this you can use Boot Camp already installed on your Mac or Parallels which you must purchase.
