Spark Plug Wires? Remove them 1 at a time from the spark plug to the distributor or the ION pack, remove and replace the spark plug, add the new spark plug wire from the newly added spark plug to the distributor or ION pack.
Could be a few reasons, and can't be pinpointed without me actually seeing it "in action". But here are the most likely reasons, in order of likleyhood: 1) Spark plug not tightened to proper specs. Fix: tighen plug to proper specs with torque wrench. 2) Spark plug "washer" bad or gone. Fix: Replace washer. 3) Spark plug seals bad. Fix: Replace spark plug. 4) Bad threads in spark plug hole. Fix: Retap, or "Helicoil" it. 5) Crack in head near spark plug hole. Fix: Replace head.
the same way you took them off just take 1 off at a time then put the new 1 in its place & so on.
To change the spark plugs in a Chevy Celebrity: 1. Give the spark plug boot a twist to free it up from the spark plug, then pull on the boot to remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug. 2. Use a 5/8" spark plug socket with an extension and ratchet or breaker bar to loosen then remove the spark plug. 3. Set the gap on the new plug to .045" then screw it back into the spark plug hole in the head. Tighten the spark plug and replace the spark plug wire. I change the spark plugs one at a time to keep from getting the spark plug wires on the wrong spark plug.
To replace spark plugs: 1. Remove the spark plug wire. Twist the boot to free it up from the spark plug, then pull the wire off with the boot. 2. Use a 5/8" spark plug socket with suitable extension and either a ratchet or breaker bar to loosen the spar plug and take it out. 3. Set the gap on the new spark plug to 0.045" and use the spark plug socket to install it. 4. Reattach the spark plug wire and move to the next spark plug. I do them one at a time, that way I don't get them mixed up. Now may be a good time to replace the spark plug wires.
you would follow the spark plaug wires from the disributor to the spark plug and replace it. Spark plug wires are different sizes in length depending on where they go. Also make sure they are in the right order or your engine might run rough.
The first thing you need to do is understand that there are four spark plugs in your 87 Accord. To replace them you need to remove the spark plug boot (the rubber end of the spark plug wire) by slightly turning it, to free it from the plug, left and right, then gently pulling it. Once you remove it insert the spark plug wrench socket over the plug and turn it counter clockwise. To install the new plugs make sure you check for proper gap. Then insert each plug hand tight, then turn with the socket and additional 1/8 turn to seat the plug. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! Then reattach the spark plug wires.
The spark plug gap for all Neons made before the year 2003 is ".035" The number one cylinder is labeled on the coil pack as "1". Just follow the spark plug wire. The spark plug is a Bosch 7927 (box of 4)
The engine cylinder at the front of the engine is the # 1 cylinder The spark plug on the intake side ( drivers side ) is the # 1 intake spark plug ( The spark plug on the exhaust side ( passenger side ) is the # 1 exhaust spark plug )
Start by replacing all the spark plugs. If that does not solve the problem then replace the spark plug wires.
1. Get the right spark plugs fron your local autosho 2. Start at plug 1, which is the 1st plug in from the left of the engine. Gently work spark plug lead off the plug. 3. Set the gap at .54" ( the gap is the opening at the botom of the plug) 4. Insert new plug 5. Reconnect plug lead. If you want to replace the plug leads then do them 1 at a just time follow the lead back to the distributor cap and swap it out. Tools needed Socket set with spark plug socket and extention bars Pliers Spark plug gap tool (champered disc with numbers on it) Difficulty.. low.. number 6 can be tricky but can be done without major trauma Time.. 5 mins per plug
number #1 spark plug is located (if u are looking under hood) right side first one closest to you. NOTE* TO REPLACE SPARK PLUGS ON A CHRYSLER 3.5 LITER V-6 YOU MUST ALSO REPLACE UPPER PLENTIUM GASKET!!!!
