Methadone is used to treat people who are addicted to opiates such as oxycontin. Many people enter treatment facilities and take methadone to help themselves to get off the opiates and eventually detox from the methadone.
In the U.S. doctors can prescribe methadone for pain management but not for MSW (addicts)
By taking it without being evaluated and prescribed by a doctor. Taking Methadone without a doctors prescription is considered abuse.
Any doctor can persribe methadone to a patient as long as there is just casuse. However many doctors won't because of the risk of addiction. If you ahve pain that seriously need attention I recommend seeing a pain doctor. Or someone who specializes in chronic pain.
toradol is the best choice but doctors will prefer if the patient is off methadone before giving other narcotic.

Methadone is one of the strongest and most potentially dangerous opioid medications. Both doctors and pharmacists must be licensed to prescribe and dispense it. l believe a decongestant can be used with it, but l suggest you call a pharmacist to confirm this.
You can get it by going to a METHADONE clinic, doing an intake, seeing a doctor, and producing a urine test. Methadose is RARELY prescribed by regular doctors, and when it is, its for people who have chronic severe pain. Methadone is methadose in liquid form, and you cannot get a prescription for methadone. Federal law prohibits anyone (including doctors/hospitals) other than a licensed drug treatment clinic to prescribe methadone for addiction. Depending on where you are, some clinics have 1 month waiting lists. summary- you can only get methadone and methadose from a clinic, unless you have a broken back and an allergy to codeine.
From what I understand yes. I am a methadone patient and have been for many years. I smoked for a long time and both my methadone doctors told me the same thing; that if I would stop smoking I would be able to be on a smaller dose and it would hold me better. It apparently makes a big difference and blocks it somehow.
You will need to get your child to an E.R. immediately. Methadone withdrawl in infants can be deadly. As a warning tho, the doctors are required by law to contact social services.
