Unfortunately you can't and you cant for several reasons. Firstly to lifeguard in most provinces you need to be 16 and over. Secondly the Prerequisites are: 16 years old, Bronze Cross (need not be current), and current Standard First Aid Certification. If you didn't already go and get your standard first aid it is typically a two day course . And for your NLS make sure your spinals are to standard (eggbeater, stable rollover, ect). Hope this was helpful . NLS instructor

No, one doesn't get two certifications for just one class. I am a BSA aquatics instructor and am also Red Cross certified, and while you have to be seperately certified, by taking the Red Cross lifeguard course, you will have no problem going through the BSA class also. They are very similar, but still have their own tests and requirements.
Only 15 for America Red Cross .
The cost of training for lifeguard certification varies from place to place. The course at the Red Cross starts at about $300 plus the cost of CPR classes.
