Yes but it is not recommended.
set it on fire
Yes. Fireplace = Fire + Place and means the place where the fire is.
Idk
you can fill a butane lighter with lot's of things but you only want to use butane or (only if you have an adjustable lighter) propane. some of my freinds tried Ethane and they could either get it to burn a lighter up or it wouldn't light so it's hard to balance if you use that. I PLAY WITH FIRE :)
Coal effect electric fire places work by simulating the look of a fireplace burning coal. The fireplace does not have any actual fire and is purely an electric heater, and often have an option between "flame only" or heater setting.
No
To light a fireplace fire one first needs to get some material to light, for example wood or coal, ensuring that it is dry. One will then need to get firelighters to start the fire which one would then start with a match.
When you pull your finger/nail down on the wheel, it creates a spark, and then you push the button, which makes lighter fluid come up and the sparks light the gas. The reason the fire keeps going is because as long as you hold the button down it keeps releasing fluid into the fire. If you were to break the release on the fluid, then it would keep going, making a fire that doesn't burn out until you run out of fuel. This is what happens in a BUTANE lighter, another type of lighter is a NAPHTHA lighter.
you actually can
To light something. To make a fire
In the form of visible and infrared light from the fire.
the pilot light in my fireplace is working but when i turn the switch on (new switch) it wouldn't fire up
Assuming that the fireplace is lit, the lighter fluid will ignite and cause the lighter to explode, causing a slight shrapnel effect. I advise greatly against trying this, in order to protect yourself from any harm. If you do attempt this, make sure to take very careful precautions, such as a fire extinguisher at the ready, some safety glasses, and something sturdy and thick to to hide behind in order to prevent any and all possible lacerations to the body.

You can light a cigarette with almost any fire, but the intended item to use for this is called a cigarette lighter. Cigarette lighters may use lighter fluid or butane, and some are electric like those in cars or mounted on walls in older buildings.
Spray gasoline on an object and light the object with the lighter.
