You should not take a tranquilizer on top of a high-level pain killer, no. I don't think it would kill you, but it would certainly magnify the sedative effects that both drugs already have. You might have trouble breathing, and you would have to be very careful of falls and confusion. I usually advise people not to mix the habit-forming medicines without triple-checking everything with their doctor.
